Florence Pugh snubs Don't Worry Darling and Olivia Wilde in Venice 'appreciation posts'

Florence Pugh snubbed Don’t Worry Darling and Olivia Wilde in a series of ‘appreciation’ snaps, despite her starring in the new movie.

Posting multiple carousels of images from her time in Venice on Instagram, including lengthy captions, she failed to mention anything about the movie or its director.

Rumours have been rife about tension surrounding the new release, starring Harry Styles, including a less-than smooth sailing premiere.

From ‘spit gate’ to row rumours, Don’t Worry Darling has certainly had a woeful week – and now Florence appears to be fuelling the drama even further.

She kicked off things after originally telling her team that she couldn’t attend the film’s first press conference – but was then later spotted sipping cocktails in Venice.

The actress was supposed to be on a flight returning from shooting Dune 2, but was in fact posing up a storm drinking a Spritz in Venice – the location of the event.

She has now taken to Instagram to share a series of gushing posts about her time in the Italian city – seemingly dodging any mention of Olivia or the movie.

In her first post she said: “To start off my appreciation posts, I’d like to begin here. A few months ago my Granzo Pat said she hadn’t bothered renewing her passport because she didn’t think she’d be doing too much travelling the older she gets.

“She is such an adventurer that it saddened us all that she was thinking that way. I asked her, ‘but granny, what about being on the red carpet at my premiere in Venice? What about if Bear Grylls actually does invite you to run wild with him for an episode?’

“After some thought she started the process. At the end of my walk down that carpet, I saw my granny taking pictures on her phone. I hugged her and asked if she would like to stand with me for a picture, her eyes lit up whilst also saying ‘oh they don’t want to see me..’ I assured her they did.

“Next thing I know she’s dancing for all the photographers calling her name. It was truly the most special moment I have ever had on a carpet. She has always been beauty and grace, but to see her so proud and so natural when hundreds of people were watching and cheering was truly remarkable. Granzo Pat is remarkable.”

In the next post, she adds: “My fleeting night in Venice needed something unbelievably special. These moments in my life are important, they represent a time, a place, a feeling. Being invited to Venice Film Festival is an honour and includes a glamorous carpet begging to be used for extravagance.

“I feel very grateful for my moment in this @maisonvalentino gown. I’ve been lucky enough to wear a few @pppiccioli dresses now, it always strikes me how powerful they make you feel. I felt strong. Proud. Sexy. Glamorous…free.”

In another she adds: “And now for my @tiffanyandco sparkles.. Simple yet perfect. Thank you once again for allowing me to wear your timeless jewellery- always tying the look effortlessly together. I always feel proud wearing the contents of your Tiffany blue boxes.”

Finally, she praises those she worked with to complete her stunning red carpet look but failed to mention any of her cast mates or the film she was there to promote.

She penned: “The tools (and hands) that made it all happen.. all things colourful and beautiful from @valentino.beauty. Thank you @babskymakeup and @peterluxhair for everything. Always. Acing every look for every occasion. I am so honoured to have you making art with me. You are true artists.

“I must also note that my lovely colour is due to @colorbymattrez- who is nothing short of a genius.
And to @rebeccacorbinmurray who understands me and my need for expression like no one else- I am constantly grateful for our collaboration and your vision.”
