Floral tributes have been left for a man who died after falling off a bridge near Wallasey Tunnel.
Police were called to Wheatland Lane in Wallasey at around 5.05am on Sunday following the sudden death of a man. Officers started CPR when they arrived at the scene. An ambulance took him to hospital where he died a short time later.
Wallasey Tunnel was closed in both directions on Sunday following the incident and drivers were diverted to the Birkenhead Tunnel. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed the man was 36-years-old and his death is being treated as non-suspicious.

A file has been prepared for the coroner. Today, a bunch of flowers have been left on the pavement of the bridge in tribute to the 36-year-old. People also paid tribute to the man.
Writing on the ECHO's Facebook page, Jenny Seale said: "Just heartbreaking, my thoughts are with his family at this time." Eileen Finnegan added: "Condolences to his family and friends."
Rebecca Leyland also said: "So sad condolences to his family and friends."
A spokesperson for the force said: "We were called out to the Wallasey Tunnel in Wirral yesterday, Sunday, November 27 following the sudden death of a man. A 36-year-old man reportedly fell from the bridge on Wheatland Lane at around 5.05am and he was sadly pronounced deceased after being taken to hospital.
"His next of kin have been informed. His death is being treated as non-suspicious and police are not looking for anyone else in connection with his death. A file has been prepared for the coroner."
