The Clyde Tunnel’s pedestrian and cyclist routes are closed north and southbound due to flooding from ongoing heavy rain.
Glasgow City Council issued an alert around 8.30am which reads: “The Clyde Tunnel Pedestrian and Cycle tunnels Northbound and Southbound are currently closed due to flooding. We'll update our channels when they reopen, but we expect them to reopen mid-morning today.”
The tunnels taking traffic between west end and south side appear to be unaffected by the closure.
Glasgow continues to be battered by heavy rain, with the Met Office forecasting gale force winds for Friday morning and downpours continuing throughout the day.

Speaking in the Met Office 10 Day Trend, Alex Deakin said: “The pressure pattern for the next few days will be dominated by low pressure to the north and high pressure to the south.
“Plenty of isobars are on the charts, meaning it’s going to stay pretty blustery. At times we’ll see these weather fronts drifting through, bringing bands of showery rain across the country.
“Up until Saturday, we’re going to see a mixture of sunshine and showers with strong, blustery westerly winds.”
