Flooding causes M4 lane closure as heavy rain hits Wales

Heavy rain caused flooding on the M4 near Swansea.

One lane was closed for several hours on the eastbound carriageway near the city.

The main problem area was between junction 43 Llandarcy and junction 42 Briton Ferry.

Heavy rain caused difficult driving conditions on the motorway between Cardiff and Swansea on Tuesday morning.

There was a crash near junction 44 just before 7am when a car hit the central reservation .

It caused long delays in the area for most of the rush hour.

Traffic Wales also warned of "poor driving" conditions along a large stretch of the motorway.

The Met Office forecast for Wales on Tuesday says that the country will experience a mix of sunshine and heavy showers throughout the day.

There is more bad weather on the way later in the week with M et Office weather warnings in place for Friday and Saturday.
