Flood alert in place for Renfrew as weather warnings continue into Tuesday

SEPA has issued a flood alert for Renfrew following an ongoing weather warning from the Met Office for heavy rain and wind.

The warning comes after forecasters issued a yellow alert for rain and wind as Storm Ciara brings gale force winds to Scotland.

The SEPA alert reads: “A combination of high tides and prevailing weather conditions means localised flooding of low lying areas in and around Ferry Road may be possible around the time of the high tide on Sunday at approximately 13:00 hours.

"Access to nearby streets and properties is also likely to be impacted by flood water."

The Met Office has a yellow weather warning in place until midnight on Tuesday (February 11), warning of gail force winds across Great Glasgow.  The same alert has been in place since 12pm today.

A further warning for snow has been issued for Monday and Tuesday too, this time for snow and predicting potential 'danger to life'.
