FlixBus adds extra services on key routes ahead of planned rail strikes

Coach operator FlixBus is increasing its capacity ahead of mass industrial action threatening to cause chaos for rail travellers and commuters later this month. With thousands of rail workers planning to walk out on June 21, 23 and 25, the firm has increased the frequency of services on key routes.

FlixBus UK managing director Andreas Schorling says increased daily services have been made available for customers, particularly on popular routes between London and Cardiff, Bristol, Reading and Plymouth, among others. Mr Schorling said: “We’re proud to be able to support customers with more coach services than usual during the week of the rail strikes. We are committed to ensuring that travellers who have been let down are still able to get around.

“FlixBus has been providing affordable, eco-friendly, and reliable journeys across the country for over a year, without taking a penny from the public purse. We hope this period serves as a reminder that long distance buses are the unsung heroes of the transport industry.”

Tickets can be purchased from www.flixbus.co.uk or the FlixBus App.
