Flight on way to Scotland makes emergency landing after mid-air alert

A FLIGHT heading to Scotland was forced to make an emergency landing after issuing a mid-air alert.

The EasyJet flight to Edinburgh from Palma in Majorca issued a 7700 alert requesting an expedited landing on its approach to Edinburgh.

It is believed the pilot did so after a loss of cabin pressure, with one Twitter user stating that air masks dropped down to passengers as a "precaution".

No injuries have currently been reported.

An EasyJet spokesperson said: "EasyJet can confirm that flight EJU7259 from Palma to Edinburgh this morning was met by emergency services on arrival in Edinburgh as a precaution only due to a technical issue."
