Flight forced to make emergency landing at Scottish airport

A flight from the Shetland Islands was forced to make an emergency landing due to an issue.

LoganAir's flight LM346 was diverted to Aberdeen International Airport amid a technical problem.

The aircraft - which was bound for Glasgow Airport - departed Sumburgh in Shetland at around 12.25pm on Tuesday, July 23.

However, it was then shortly diverted to Aberdeen on the east coast of Scotland amid the situation.

Confirming the emergency landing, the airline said the "safety and wellbeing" of its customers and crews is extremely important to them.

Currently, it is unclear what the technical issue was.

A spokesperson for LoganAir said: “We can confirm Flight LM346 from Sumburgh to Glasgow was diverted to Aberdeen for a precautionary landing following a technical issue.

"The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is of the utmost importance to us.”
