A flight attendant has explained why she never posts on social media at the airport.
Brenda Orelus from Miami, Florida has shared some of the things she thinks holiday makers should be aware of when away from home, and those things they should refrain from doing.
The nine-year flight veteran, posting on her TikTok account @flightbae.b, said the first thing she would never do is carry an item on a plane for somebody else.
Brenda said: “I would never under any circumstances transport any items for anybody for any reason. Nope! Not happening. Have you seen Locked Up Abroad?”
The National Geographic documentary follows the stories of people who have got in trouble in other countries and often shows people locked up accused of smuggling.
As well as urging people to avoid inadvertently smuggling, Brenda had some other advice for keeping safe.
“I would never post my location while I’m still there. Unless there is security that is pre-arranged, like a meet-and-greet, or something of that capacity," she said.
“You’re not going to set me up. You know these cities better than I do. Nuh-huh. There are just too many variables that I’m not willing to risk.
“If I’m posting about it, don’t worry your pretty little head. I’m gone already.”
As well as ensuring potential bad actors don't have access to her location while abroad, the tip means people living near her home don't know that she isn't in - something burglars could take advantage of.
Before you jet off on holiday, there are many checks to undertake, just to make sure that you've got everything that you need.
Another solid piece of plane travel advice was recently delivered by Aviation expert Christine Negroni, who urged people to check what materials their chosen plane outfit is made of before boarding.
Somewhat surprisingly, wearing leggings could lead passengers to struggle if there is an emergency on board the flight, she claimed.
Christine told The Sun: "You might have to escape through a cabin fire or there could be a separate fire on the ground once you leave the aircraft.
"Everyone is wearing yoga pants on planes now, but I avoid all artificial fibres because they are more likely to burn and stick to you if there is a fire."
The expert recommends natural fibres like cotton instead.
