A flight attendant has opened up about the one drink that makes staff wince every time someone orders one on a plane.
Jet, a cabin crew member who writes blogs about her time on planes, has urged people not to buy a Diet Coke when soaring through the air.
While the aviation worker does not have a specific issue with the brand or its taste, the problem arises in how it is served to passengers, the Mirror reports.

Writing in her online blog, she explained: "Soft drinks foam up a lot more when poured out of a can, and the worst culprit for this is Diet Coke – I literally have to sit and wait for the bubbles to fall before I can continue pouring.
"If all three passengers ask for Diet Coke I'll often get them started, take another three drink orders, serve those, and then finish the Diet Cokes."
Jet also explained why it takes so long to pour, adding: "What you can't see is that the Diet Coke doesn't come out of the can when flipped upside down until you lift it up and tilt it slightly.
"This is because the air pressure is keeping the Coke in the can. It makes pouring the Diet Coke very controllable and reduces the chances of spilling or overflow."
Obviously, this applies to all fizzy drinks, not just Diet Coke.
Furthermore, there are some issues with consuming fizzy drinks as well as alcohol on board a plane. As the air is much drier than on the ground, consuming these drinks can leave you feeling unwell.
In addition, carbonated drinks can cause gas and heartburn, both of which are unpleasant feelings to have during a flight.
