Avoiding hassle when travelling is always a bonus and one air stewardess has shared some top tips in a bid to help trips go ahead smoothly.
Taking to social media, Esther Sturrus divulged some of her top tips that she has learned during her career so far. The 22-year-old flight attendant's clip, shared with her 180,000 TikTok followers, detailed some handy travel secrets to help ensure a great experience when staying at a hotel.
Racking up more than one million views and 52,000 likes, the video is proving a hit with social media users who are learning tricks of the trade - from how to bag cheaper tickets to ways to charge your phone, reports the Express.
Charge your handset devices through your TV
Getting to your destination and realising you forgot your charger plug or annoyingly loosing it on your way can be a pain.
However, Ester included an easy way to keep your phone battery topped up, calling it one of the "most innovative" travel hacks.
“This is extremely helpful if you forgot or lost your wall plug from your charger,” Esther said.
Simply connect your device - whether it be your phone or tablet - to the TV using the USB port. This will then act a charging unit to keep you battery alive.
How to bag cheaper tickets
In recent years, people have been advised to browse flight options on a private browser in a bid to prevent airfares from increases.
The money saving trick can help avoid differing flight prices, with viewers likely to be met with higher rates on particular sites when returning time on time.
“The companies know how often you visit their site and will typically raise the price because of your frequent visits,” Esther claimed.
“Therefore, but using private browsing, nothing can be tracked or traced", she added.
Leave your shoes inside a safe
Keeping your valuables safe when travelling is important. And one way to do this is by locking things away in a safe if provided by the hotel you are staying at.
But the flight attendant said one important item that should be store in your safe is your shoes.
Esther said: "This way you will never forget anything from your safe. You will notice when you want to leave that you are missing a shoe, it’s also quite a funny one!"
Soak a small towel when you arrive at your hotel
"Being on planes means you always suffer from the dry air. And it is not nice if you also have dry air in your hotel room," explained the travel expert.
"So another big tip of mine is, when you arrive at your accommodation, soak a small towel and place it in front of the heater."
The wet towel can be used to humidify the room as the heat from the radiator turns the water to steam. This can counter the drying effects of central heating.
"Soak a small towel and place it front of the heater,” she explained, adding: “That water evaporates and in a small hotel room that can bring just a little relief."
How to make space in your luggage
Being efficient and packing sensibly is easier said that done.
But Ester reckons the rick is to roll garments instead of folding them before popping them in your case. Rolling your clothes squeezes the air from between the folds and therefore creates more space.
"It always seems kills there’s never enough room in your luggage when packing for a great journey. However, one of the top travel hacks for packing is to roll your clothes instead of folding them."
