
Flight attendant Danasia Elder was one of the 67 individuals who tragically lost their lives in a midair collision involving American Airlines Flight 5342 on Wednesday. The Association of Flight Attendants confirmed this devastating news in a recent Facebook post.
Elder, who was based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, had been pursuing her passion for flying since 2024, according to the union. Described as bright and smart, she was not only a dedicated flight attendant but also an aspiring entrepreneur.
Her brother-in-law, Brandon Payne, shared that being a flight attendant was a dream come true for Elder. Payne fondly remembered her as a vibrant individual who embraced life to the fullest.



Tragically, Elder leaves behind her husband and two children, as reported by WSOC. Payne emphasized that she was not only a loving wife and mother but also a cherished friend to many.
Known for her zest for life, Elder had a deep love for her family, faith, and travel. Her positive spirit and dedication to her loved ones will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The Association of Flight Attendants expressed their commitment to ensuring the safety of all airline personnel and passengers, stating that they will do everything in their power to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
