A man in his 30s remains in a critical condition in the Royal Victoria Hospital after an 'serious assault' on Friday.
Detectives investigating the incident in the Flax Street area of North Belfast this morning have arrested a man on suspicion of 'attempted murder'.
Shortly after 6.40am, police say they received a report of an altercation at an address in Ardoyne.

A PSNI spokesperson continued: " Police responded and a man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is described as critical.
"A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody at this time.
"Detectives are appealing for with any information about the incident, or who can help us with our enquiries, to contact 101, quoting reference number 478 18/03/22.

Speaking to Belfast Live earlier today, a spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said their team also received a report of an incident in the early hours of Friday.
"The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 06.47 on Friday 18 March following reports of an incident in the Flax Street area of North Belfast," he added.
"NIAS dispatched 3 Emergency crews, a HART crew and an ambulance officer to the scene. The HEMS team was also despatched to the incident arriving by ambulance car.
"Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken by ambulance to RVH."
