Flavours of the Caribbean sun

Bacardi recently launched the "Bacardi Premium Portfolio", a dark rum collection comprising of Bacardi Añejo Cuatro, Bacardi Reserva Ocho and Bacardi Gran Reserva Diez. While the Reserva Ocho is no stranger to rum drinkers in Thailand, Añejo Cuatro and Gran Reserva Diez are making their debut in the country.

Using the highest quality molasses from Fiji and Mexico, purified water from Puerto Rico and an isolated yeast strain patented since 1862, the premium rums are minimum-aged-statement spirits made with cutting edge techniques such as column distillation, purposeful ageing, charcoal filtration before it is barrelled in American oak casks and aged undisturbed under the Caribbean sun.

The Añejo Cuatro is inspired by Don Facundo's original Añejo recipe; aged for a minimum of four years, it has gentle notes of mild vanilla, toasted oak, clove and honey. The Reserva Ocho is one of the world's oldest private rums, first released in 1996, and was a personal reserve that was kept within the Bacardi family for seven generations since the company's founding in 1862 and only served during special occasions. Barrel-aged for a minimum of eight years, its flavour is rich and refined with warming notes of wood, apricot, nutmeg and butterscotch. The Gran Reserva Diez was created with the master blender's reserve of rums and has complexity and smoothness. A true luxurious rum, a sipping rum barrel-aged for a minimum of 10 years, it is deep gold in colour characterised by caramelised vanilla and oak with bright notes of stone fruits, banana and pear.
