Five things to do in Seville ahead of Europa League final tonight

Rangers fans have descended upon Seville to watch their team play in the Europa League final.

Kick off is at 8pm UK time - or 9pm in Seville - so until then, many supporters may want to explore the city.

Seville is the capital of Andalusia, and offers a whole range of activities for fans who want to soak up the culture.

The historic city is a popular tourist attraction, known for flamenco dancing and bull-fighting.

Seville has opened its doors to Rangers fans, who will be able to take in the city's sights and visit pubs, bars and fan zones located in some of the most popular tourist spots.

Here are five things that Rangers fans can do ahead of the match today.

Meet up at La Cartuja Rangers fan zones

Rangers fans who want to celebrate the lead up to the finals will be able to meet at a number of fan zones across the city, with one of the main ones being at Estadio La Cartuja de Sevilla.

This is where ticketless fans will be able to watch a live broadcast of the game, and the meeting point will offer food, drink, and music right up until the stadium opens it's doors at 8pm (local time).

Visit the Plaza de España

The Plaza de España is a historic town square, and it will act as another Rangers fan zone.

built in 1929, it is considered a huge attraction with a semi-circular lake, its twin towers, the benches that show off Spain's 49 provinces.

It is a great way for fans to experience the city while keeping in with a Rangers theme.

Visit the Parque de María Luisa

Rangers families travelling to Seville who may want to get a break from the leadup calibrations can enjoy the Parque de María Luisa, a public park that runs alongside the Guadalquivir River.

The park has multiple monuments as well as a number of playgrounds for Rangers mad little ones.

The park is right next to the Plaza de España, so it could be a great place to visit on the way to and from the fan zone located there.

Eat the local food

Fans may want to try some of the local foods in Seville, with many cafes and restaurants open to Rangers fans.

According to Devour, popular local dishes in Seville include:

  • Secreto ibérico - a Sevillian cut of Iberian pork
  • Carrillada de cerdo - a traditional stewed pork cheek
  • Espinacas con garbanzos - a spinach and chickpea
  • Solomillo al whisky - grilled pork loin in a whiskey sauce

And there are many other local dishes that Ranges fans could try, which will no doubt be available in tapas bars and restaurants across the city.

Take in the architecture

It costs fans absolutely nothing to wander the city and take in its traditional architecture.

Some popular locations include Torre del Oro, the Maestranza bull-ring, the Santa Cruz district, the Don Fadrique tower, and the City Walls among many other popular spots
