The Looking Glass on Sunniside is best known for it's fantastic lunch menu jam-packed with classic bistro favourites.
It also looks like something straight out of Alice in Wonderland, allowing customers to soak up a quirky vibe while sitting down to eat, drink and socialise.
The quaint eatery has had it's diary open for Mother's Day specials since the end of last month, so those looking to get booked in should act fast to avoid disappointment.

One of Sunderland's newest mega-venues is The Palm in North Hylton. A multi-venue complex in which holds a number of bars, restaurants, cafes, street food vendors and games areas, there's plenty to see and do.

This Mother's Day, the venue have also announced that mothers dine free after 5pm, meaning that mums can have an expense-free meal to celebrate their special day.
Prices start at £15.95, and mothers dine free from 5pm onward.
4. Paticake Pattisserie - 3 Tunstall Rd, Sunderland, SR2 7AP
For those who are fancying a picnic in the park this Mother's Day, as the spring sunshine comes out to play - Paticake Pattisserie have you covered.
The well-established bakery and bistro are offering special afternoon tea boxes for collection on the day itself between 11am and 3pm - so those struggling to get booked in can improvise and have a meal with a view of their choice.
What's on offer?
Punters can expect finger sandwiches, fresh fruit and cake with clotted cream, as well as a variety of other sumptuous snacks to enjoy all afternoon.
An afternoon tea box will set you back £17 per person, but the patisserie also has specials on cakes too for those seeking a sweet snack.
5. Bar 808 - 21 St Thomas' St, Sunniside, Sunderland, SR1 1QD
Bottomless brunch will be available at Bar 808 on the big day itself, with an endless supply of alcoholic beverages and small plates to keep punters content.
What's on offer?
Tapas and pizza will be on offer as well as a range of cocktails, gin prosecco - with 90 minute long slots available.
