It’s getting to that time of year, the weather is starting to show some promise and the evenings are getting a ‘quare’ stretch longer.
It’s also that point of the year where we’re stuck between the cosy winter days and the summer season. What better time to start thinking about a summer getaway?
Co Tyrone is the perfect place to head away for a few days to unwind and make the most of the natural beauty right on our doorstep.

With the number of AirBnB properties listed across the county increasing, we thought we’d put together a list of some of the best ones we came across during a quick search this week.
We searched for three nights in June to see what was available, and here’s five of the best we found:
Country lodge with hot tub
What better way to unwind than to soak yourself in a hot tub in the middle of the countryside?
This lodge just outside Ballygawley sleeps four and costs around £80 per night, and offers picturesque views across the Co Tyrone countryside.
Now, who's coming for a dip?
Cosy cottage
The perfect vision of tranquility here at this cosy cottage between Carrickmore and Creggan.
The listing for this cottage describes it as "a delightful 18th Century Irish stone-built cottage lovingly restored to create comfortable, modern holiday accommodation, while still maintaining its traditional charm."
It can sleep up to 10 people and can be rented in June for around £110 per night - split that between a family or group of friends and you're on to a budget getaway.
Sperrin haven
Definitely a bit more luxury involved in this one but it looks like the ideal spot to chill out this summer.
This place has a hot tub and infrared sauna, and is finished to perfection just outside Greencastle.
While it sleeps eight people it's definitely on the pricier end of things at around £400 per night.
Cabin life
Located just outside Omagh, this country cabin is tastefully decorated and would make an ideal getaway for a small group.
In the words of its owners "it is a warm, homely and chilled space perfect for a unique getaway."
We especially love the chillout area outside this cabin, and could imagine sitting on here on a fine summer's day.
At £70 per night and sleeping up to five, it's not too expensive either.
Cobblers Cottage
Cosy cottages seem to be the vibe at the moment don't they?
This one near Creggan is also located close to the Sperrins and is more than 200 years old, coming with a little pot belly stove if it ever gets a bit chilly.
With room for five guests it would make an ideal summer getaway and will set you back around £110 a night.
