Five-star home that offers 'escape to Africa' set to launch in Ayrshire countryside

A leading homebuilder is to launch the "first of a kind" show unit in the heart of rural Ayrshire.

Miller Homes will unveil its Harford showhome in the leafy setting of Kilmaurs.

The five-bedroom country chic home is set to launch next Saturday, January 29 and is inspired by interior designer Eileen Kesson.

She said: "This showhome is a breath of fresh air, providing a warm and welcoming ambience for those who have the pleasure to come and visit.

"Designers and brands across the country have been planning for 2022 trends, and this showhome embodies quite a few that seem to be growing amongst homeowners, including ‘all things green’ and the ever-popular rattan trend.

"We’ve done something quite different here by covering almost all of the walls in wallpaper.

"This is something we haven’t done before, but I really see it as a popular trend into 2022.

"It is quite amazing to see the different ways of bringing textures, tranquility and warmth into each room through gentle patterns and neutral palettes."

To the right of the hallway, you find a striking lounge, which will take you away on an African adventure.

Impactful art, contemporary lights, a giraffe-effect marbled coffee table and zebra print cushions on the woven chaise longue chairs all bring the theme together to create a luxurious feel.

Elsewhere, buyers can enjoy a sleek integrated kitchen that features a top of the range cooker, AEG induction hob, ever-popular wine cooler and everything else you’d expect to see in a five-star home.

Continuing the leafy theme upstairs, the principal bedroom offers a zen ambience through textured fabric wallpaper in two tones: grass green and oatmeal.

Bedrooms two, three and four are excellent spaces for a family of all shapes and sizes to grow into.

Bedroom five has been dressed as a calming at-home office and study space.

If you are interested in rural living but don’t want to compromise on a long commute, Evergreen Manor could be the place to call home just a 35-minute drive from Glasgow's city centre.
