A popular Scottish zoo, known for rescuing and rehabilitating animals, has shared the image of the latest little animal to enter their care.
The Five Sisters Zoo posted about little joey Dash, who is fighting back after being abandoned by his Parma wallaby mum thanks to the round-the-clock care offered by the team.
The park in West Lothian explained that Dash had left his mum's pouch too early and was left alone, cold, and unable to look after himself.
They explained: "The days following this our keepers tried their best to get Dash back with his mum but unfortunately this failed. He was around 90 days old at the time and wallaby joeys need their mum’s milk for around 300 days, therefore it was clear we had to look after him."
A team of three keepers then took turns over the last seven weeks to look after and feed him.
"He has come on leaps and bounds," the past added. "And has turned into an adventurous and strong-willed little wallaby. He now spends time out the pouch and goes for short visits to the wallaby field to learn socialising skills and have a hop around."
Dash will be looked after by the keepers for a further couple of months before he is strong enough to join the rest of the wallabies in their wallaby field.
One FB follower wrote: "Omg he's so amazing. Must be best job ever looking after him. Well done team!"
While another added: "Well done to the keepers at FSZ for getting up out of bed every few hours to feed wee Dash through the night."
