Sadio Mane is expected to seek a transfer away from Bayern Munich this summer, with the former Liverpool forward not believed to have a future under new manager Thomas Tuchel.
Following disciplinary issues and performances below the standard he set at Liverpool, Mane is believed to be on the way out of Bayern with Tuchel keen to move the forward on. However, this will be no easy task, with the 31-year-old on wages reportedly in the region of a huge £17million-a-year.
This leaves limited options for Bayern if they are to find a potential suitor, with the Senegalese forward unlikely to accept a cut in his wages with a year left on his contract. This could leave just Premier League clubs and a select few European clubs in the running to sign a player who became one of the most feared forwards in the world at Liverpool.
With seven goals in the Bundesliga this season, Mane's goal returns have dipped significantly and any interested party will now be aware of signing a player whose talents look to have diminished. However, with his valuable experience at the elite level, he could remain a useful option for clubs around the world.
Here, we take a look at the potential new clubs for Sadio Mane ahead of the summer transfer window.
Man United
Following reports of discontent in Bavaria, Mane has found himself linked to Man United, with reports in Germany suggesting that the forward's most likely options in the Premier League would be signing for the Red Devils or Newcastle. Erik ten Hag is likely to strengthen his forward ranks this summer and United could return for a player they nearly signed in 2016.
Mane has previously spoken about how close he came to a United move.
"I have to say, I was really close to going to Manchester United," he told the Daily Telegraph. "I had the contract there. I had it all agreed. It was all ready, but instead, I thought, 'No, I want to go to Liverpool."
PSG
With Lionel Messi and Neymar both expected to leave the club this summer, PSG could be left having to fill their void with experienced forward options. Mane would fit this bill nicely, with his ability to play on the wing or through the middle of the pitch, he could link up well with Kylian Mbappe.
However, with the Parisian club expected to have a new recruitment strategy built around bringing in young French players he could lie outside of their new transfer model.
Inter Milan
Having qualified for the Champions League final, Inter have re-established themselves in European football's elite and will hope to consolidate their position with their transfer strategy this summer. At 37, Edin Dzeko will need support next season, with Romelu Lukaku expected to return to Chelsea.
This will leave Simone Inzaghi with gaps to fill in his attack, and Mane would fit the bill nicely. Italian football has a long history of extending players' careers late into their thirties, and given Mane's declining physical attributes it could be the perfect country to see out the remainder of his career.
Chelsea
While Chelsea have options in Mane's position, given Todd Boehly's transfer strategy so far at Stamford Bridge it would not be unexpected for a move to sign the Bayern man to materialise. Raheem Sterling and Mykhaylo Mudryk would both have added competition from the arrival of Mane, but there would likely need to be departures before any move materialises.
Chelsea are the favourites to sign Mane with odds of 2/1 and they also need to continue the evolution of their squad, but Boehly needs to learn from the lessons of signing a declining Pierre Emerick Aubameyang last summe r.
Saudi Arabia
While there have been multiple links for Mane to join Europe's elite, Saudi Arabia could be an option for the forward, with the Gulf State currently spending big on wages to secure the signing of big European names.
Lionel Messi has been linked with a move to Al-Hilal, a transfer which could see the 35-year-old earn a remarkable £320 million a year. Such figures may not be on the table for Mane, but he could seek a lucrative payday with which he can continue to help fund community projects in his home village.
