Five people have been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle collision on the A69 in Northumberland.
The road remains closed in both directions and diversions are in place following the collision near Haydon Bridge on the A69 eastbound carriageway. Police, paramedics, the air ambulance and fire crews attended the scene after reports of the incident at around 2.30pm this afternoon.
North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) said they despatched three ambulance crews, two rapid response paramedics and the air ambulance to the scene. Five patients were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) also confirmed that crews were at the scene. They have since left the area, however police remain on scene and the road remains closed.
A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 14.31 to attend a road traffic collision on A69 near Haydon Bridge. We dispatched three ambulance crews, two rapid response paramedics and the air ambulance to the scene.
"We treated five patients on scene before taking them by road to hospital."
