Five people have been killed in a horror crash on a freeway in Long Beach, California.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has said the crash occurred around 4.15am this morning on the 710 Freeway.
Reposts indicate just one vehicle was involved in the crash after it careered into an attenuator.
Debris from the stricken vehicle was shown all over the freeway on the northbound side, closed by the CHP for investigation before some lanes opened again at 6am.
The crash occurred at the 91 Freeway connector, the CHP traffic log showed. Further details are currently unavailable.
It comes after a horrific crash involving a wrong-way driver occurred in Long Beach earlier this month.
The wrong-way driver was killed and several others injured in a collision that involved four cars including an SUV near Junipero Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway.
"Long Beach Fire Department attempted life-saving measures on the driver of the SUV, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene," said police in a statement.

Both of the kids, aged 10 and 16, died after they were struck by a vehicle and killed on eastbound SR-78 near the Mar Vista Drive exit in Vista, California. Reports say the vehicle that struck them was going full speed when it hit.
The children were not publicly identified, but were the kids of 33-year-old mom Sandra Oritz.
Oritz was arrested, alleged with charges for a DUI, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and child endangerment.
The 41-year-old driver of the Nissan who hit the children at full speed on the busy road was shown visibly distressed at the scene. He was not charged.
