Five of the cheapest houses on the market in Greater Manchester right now - with prices from £40k

With house prices continuing to rise amid the cost of living crisis, househunters who are in search for an affordable home may be finding it difficult. According to Rightmove, the average price of a home across Greater Manchester is currently £260,200, which has jumped up in the last month alone.

For any first-time buyers looking to get on the property ladder, or any homeowner wanting a new renovation project, there are certain parts of the region where homes are often priced much cheaper. In the boroughs of Bury, Salford and Wigan, there are currently some bargain houses up for grabs ranging between £40,000 and £70,000.

Aside from a couple, these properties are mainly doer-uppers so they will need quite a bit of TLC - but they have the potential to be turned into lovely starter or family homes. Below are six of the cheapest houses for sale across Greater Manchester right now.
