Five men arrested following car chase to appear in court

The five men that were arrested in connection to a garda investigation into criminal activity in Leinster are set to appear in Court this morning.

The men, one of which is aged in their teens, were involved in a car chase on Tuesday evening which spanned two counties after gardai tried to stop them.

Now, they are set to appear in the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.

A garda spokesman said: "The five men arrested in connection with this investigation have all been charged and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice, Dublin, at 10:30am on Friday, 29th April, 2022."

Gardai attempted to stop a vehicle on Tuesday evening in Co Meath as part of ongoing investigations into criminal activity in Leinster.

Officers jumped into action after the vehicle failed to come to a stop and a managed containment operation ensued.

The car chase ended in the offending vehicle crashing on Newbridge Road in Naas, Co Kildare just before 8pm.

Three of the men, aged in their late teens, 20s and 40s, were taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries while the other two, 20s, are detained at Naas Garda Station.
