Five Manchester United players send messages to Donny van de Beek after Everton move

Donny van de Beek will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Everton after sealing a deadline day move from Manchester United.

The Dutchman, who has been handed the No.30 shirt at Goodison Park, was desperate to be granted a temporary exit from Old Trafford following a tally of just 50 appearances since he joined the club from Ajax in September 2020.

Crystal Palace and Valencia expressed an interest in signing the midfielder. But Everton — who confirmed Frank Lampard as their new manager on Monday — won the race for his signature.

Van de Beek, who made just five appearances for United since Ralf Rangnick's arrival at the club in November, will be looking to become a regular starter for the Toffees and get his Premier League career back on track.

His temporary switch to Everton has been greeted with a wave of messages from United players. Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what they have had to say.

On Instagram, Bruno Fernandes wrote: "Go and enjoy bro @donnyvdbeek."

Marcus Rashford posted: "My brother. Go and show them what you can do @Donny_beek6."

Brandon Williams said: "All the best brother."

Juan Mata, also on Instagram, said: "All the best my friend."

Anthony Martial, who left United on loan last week, joining Sevilla, sent the Dutchman a heart emoji to show his love and support.

On completing his switch to Everton, Van de Beek told EvertonTV : "I want to show my qualities, my strengths, to the people in England – but especially the fans from Everton," said Van de Beek.

"The most important thing is we win games and go up the table.

"We have good players in the team and the talent and ability to go up in the league. But, for that, we need to work hard and I want to be part of this.

"Everton is a big club, with big players, the history and amazing fans. The club has everything to go up and be higher in the table."
