Five incredible dupes for loved and lost discontinued beauty products including Becca Champagne Pop, NYX and Benefit

Beauty buffs will know the absolute horror you feel when your favourite makeup staple gets discontinued. I remember being utterly heartbroken when Seventeen cosmetics left Boots back in 2018.

And while this particular beauty brand might have had a resurgence, other brands and individual products are not so fortunate. With almost no warning, the product you’ve used daily for the last 10 years can be uprooted and sentenced to life in the beauty graveyard.

This leaves shoppers scrambling to stock up on the last of the reduced items, and then panicking when they’re running out, realising they need to find a new loyal concealer or mascara.

LOOKFANTASTIC have scoured the market to reveal the best affordable dupes of some of the nation’s favourite discontinued products, helping fill the void and mend that broken heart left by your cult-classic, throwback formulas.

Here are some of the best modern dupes for some of the most iconic discontinued products from years gone by.

Discontinued: NYX Dark Circle Concealer

Dupe: Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Corrector in ‘Dark Peach’, £21.50

Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Corrector in ‘Dark Peach’ is a dupe for the NYX dark circle concealer (LOOKFANTASTIC)

When it comes to dark circles, it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. The NYX Dark Circle Concealer was a real fan favourite and despite it being discontinued, 1,900 people each month still search for the product across the world.

The cult classic’s peach-toned correctors worked to disguise the look of dark or purple rings, leaving under-eyes looking bright and fresh. But LOOKFANTASTIC say Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Corrector in ‘Dark Peach’ delivers a similar swipe of neutralising colour to your under-eyes, helping to minimise the look of dark circles while illuminating your contour.

But NYX do have their Professional Makeup 3C Palette which helps resolve a number of colour-corrective issues, featuring six balancing shades at a similar price point. Yellow helps camouflages dark circles and dark spots, while green counteracts redness and lavender counteracts sallowness, all while peach neutralises dark circles and brightens the skin.

Discontinued: Becca Under Eye Brightener

Dupe: Makeup Revolution Eye Bright Under-Eye Corrector , £6.00

Makeup Revolution Eye Bright Under-Eye Corrector is similar to the former Becca Under Eye Brightener (LOOKFANTASTIC)

When Becca announced it was shutting its doors for good in 2021, the news saddened many beauty buffs. Customers were clutching the Under Eye Brightener tighter than ever, anticipating the day the formula would become just another loved-and-lost product.

Luckily, Makeup Revolution’s Eye Bright Under-Eye Corrector is on-hand to save the day – a lightweight corrector to help awaken tired-looking eyes. The clever formula features light-reflecting pigments and castor seed oil to help smooth and brighten dark under-eyes, and is a reliable stand-in for the Becca formula.

Discontinued: Becca Champagne Pop Highlighter

Dupe: Wet n' Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder, £3.74

Becca Champagne Pop Highlighter as been discontinued but Wet n' Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder is a good alternative (LOOKFANTASTIC)

Another Becca beauty staple bites the dust - the Champagne Pop Highlighter gained cult status in many a makeup bag, known for its smooth, shimmery formula and natural-looking coverage.

If you’ve never really gotten over the betrayal of this one, the Wet n' Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder might be the next best thing. It gives an instant holographic glow, powered by shimmery pigment for a golden, pearlescent finish.

Discontinued: Benefit Zings Eyebrow Kit

Dupe: Sleek MakeUP Brow Kit, £8.49

Sleek MakeUP Brow Kit is a dupe of the Benefit Zings Eyebrow Kit (LOOKFANTASTIC)

Leaders of the brow game, Benefit is no stranger to a quality eyebrow palette. The Zings Eyebrow Kit featured two pans – one powder and one waxy formula to shape, define and set your brows at a moment's notice. Covering all your bases, the palette even arrived with two brow brushes and a pair of portable tweezers – what more could you want?! Well, ideally, you want to be able to purchase the product you know and love.

Luckily, Sleek MakeUP offers an alternative that’s pretty similar to the Benefit model. The Brow Kit holds wax and powder formulas, plus a handy mirror, allowing you to perfect your arches, whether at home or across the globe.

Discontinued: Lancôme Juicy Tubes

Dupe: NYX Cosmetics This Is Juice Gloss, £7.50

NYX Cosmetics This Is Juice Gloss is similar to Lancôme Juicy Tubes (LOOKFANTASTIC)

This is the product that kickstarted many people’s beauty obsession back in the day. Lancôme Juicy Tubes were the handbag staple, and one of the most sought-after products this side of the Millennium. Juicy Tubes were the icon – the blueprint – and shoppers have looked far and wide for an alternative.

Brand new from NYX, the This Is Juice Gloss laces lips with a dewy colour, utilising five electrolytes and smoothing oils to nourish and hydrate. The lip gloss is available in a range of fruity shades, delivering a juicy pop of pigment for an instant 00s throwback just like the Lancôme product.
