Five held on suspicion of murder after man's body found

Five people were today being questioned on suspicion of murder after the body of a man was found during the early hours of the morning.

At around 4am Merseyside Police received a report that a body had been found outside an address in Smallridge Close, Pensby. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene but the man was sadly pronounced dead.

Two women, both 20 and from Heswall, a 25-year-old man from Eastham, a 23-year-old man, from Pensby, and a 30-year-old man, from Thingwall, were arrested by police on suspicion of murder. They have been taken into custody where they will be questioned by detectives.

A post mortem will be carried out to establish cause of death and officers are trying to notify the man’s next of kin. An investigation is underway and officers are at the scene carrying out extensive CCTV, house-to-house and forensic enquiries.
