Five charities have come together to host a fun-filled event for alcohol awareness week at Hamilton Accies' New Douglas Park.
The Children's Charity Blameless is working in partnership with My Support Day, The GIVIT, The Beacons and Turning Point Scotland to offer people the chance to come along to a free family BBQ event at the football club on Tuesday, July 4.
The event will offer people the chance to meet and learn more about local support services that are available across the area.
A spokesperson for Blameless said: “Alcohol contributes to more deaths than any other substance, including heroin and cocaine, and it’s legal. Alcohol is also the only substance that if we say 'NO' to, we are met with 'What’s wrong with you?' 'Why are you being boring?' and 'Och, just have one'.
“Making a choice to drink or not is personal to each and every one of us. We do not need to justify our reasons to anyone else. Do what makes you happy. Do what’s right for you!
“Please come along with your loved ones to the serenity gardens at Hamilton Accies stadium this Tuesday, July 4, and find out what support is readily available to you and your family when it comes to alcohol issues.”
As well as a BBQ and service information, those in attendance will enjoy mocktails and slushies, a bouncy castle for the children, a live DJ set and Beat the Goalie.
The event will take place between 12pm and 4pm and is open to all.
