A man has been left hospitalised after a disturbance in broad daylight which allegedly saw a group of men being attacked in a Scots village on Monday.
Police were called to the incident on Main Street, West Calder in West Lothian on Monday afternoon at 12.35pm, where a man was taken to hospital. It has now been confirmed that he had since been released.
Five men have been arrested in connection with the disturbance.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.35pm on Monday, 26 June, 2023, officers received a report of a disturbance on Main Street, West Calder.
“A man was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.
“Five men, aged 28, 36, 37, 42 and 55, have been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.”
