Fisherman finds odd creature out at sea that people think is a 'baby dragon'

A fisherman landed a strange catch when he was fishing deep at sea and after sharing a picture of it online his followers were freaked out - as some thought it was a 'baby dragon'.

Roman Fedortsov has found some strange things before, including a mushroom-like orange creature, an aggressive-looking angler fish, and another catch that resembled a doughnut.

And now he's shared his latest find, a small fish that's longer than it is wide, and which his followers on social media describe as looking like a 'baby dragon'.

He pulled it from the water when he was fishing in the Norwegian Sea, and after sharing an image of his catch online his followers have been left terrified.

Sharing the picture on Instagram with his 646,000 followers, Roman wrote: "Just a quote - 'It's one thing to chase something nameless, but quite another thing to find it' – G.F. Lovecraft."

The post racked up more than 22,000 likes, with users baffled by the bizarre-looking beast.

One person said: "It looks a little like a newly hatched dragon to me. Lol." [sic]

"God. The Dragon. Cool what! Who is this anyway?" another user commented.

Someone else said: "Sea or ocean Chupacabra?!?"

"What is that?" one baffled user asked.

"I think he’s missing two more heads," said another person.

Someone else wondered: "What is the name of this miracle?"

"It is better to look at such creatures from afar. Indeed, the depths of the sea are unknown," commented another user.

The fish was identified as a chimaera – a cartilaginous fish also known as “ghost sharks”.
