History has been made at a luxury Falkirk hotel as customers and residents bring a new favourite dish to its restaurant menu.
Fish and chips has overtaken steak as the most popular menu item at Macdonald Inchyra Hotel for the first time in the venue's history.
Almost 1,500 plates of beer-battered North Sea haddock with chunky tartar sauce, chips and mushy peas have been served up since New Year's Day 2022.
The sumptuous dish is supplied by Linlithgow-based Fishbrothers Seafood.
Brett Ingle, General Manager at Macdonald Inchyra Hotel, said: "At Macdonald Inchyra Hotel, it’s our dedication to serving only the highest quality food that makes us different.
"Our fish and chips has been a firm favourite with our customers and guests for many years now, but we’ve noticed a real boost in sales over the past few months.
"It may be the freshness of our fish, the expertise of our chefs or the friendliness and professionalism of our food and beverage team - but it’s a winning combination with our regular guests and first-time visitors alike. As to whether fish and chips is best enjoyed with salt, vinegar or sauce - the jury’s out!"
Macdonald Inchyra Hotel's AA-rosette awarded Scottish Steakhouse restaurant is located in the heart of the property, just off junction 5 of the M8 between Polmont and Grangemouth.
