While it remains unclear whether the two teams have held any talks regarding Boston Celtics reserve guard Derrick White, Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer is reporting that the Phoenix Suns are “believed … (to) have interest” in the former San Antonio Spurs wing.
White, who struggled to find his role in the Celtics’ offense at times after being dealt from San Antonio at the 2022 NBA trade deadline last season, has occasionally found himself a target of analysts looking to shake up Boston’s roster with imaginary trades as a result of his inopportune yips in the 2022 NBA Playoffs. But White has made it clear in recent weeks that he believes a greater degree of comfort with the team’s style of play will pay off for him this coming season, with early results in preseason supporting his theory.
At present, neither Fischer nor any other outlet has reported any other details to suggest that a deal for the Colorado native with Phoenix or any team is on the table for Boston, but it is a point of interest to monitor as the season unfolds nonetheless.
