The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will soon issue its first wave of Cost of Living payment for 2023.
It is understood that millions across the country will see the £301 land directly in their bank accounts from tomorrow (April 25). It will be part of a £900 payment - split into three instalments - intended to help those receiving eligible means-tested benefits with everyday expenses such as food and bills.
Mel Stride, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, said: “These payments will give a financial boost to more than eight million households as we continue to wrap our arms around the most vulnerable, while the best way we can protect people from high costs is to halve inflation by the end of this year.

“In the long-term, we know work is the best route out of poverty, which is why we recently announced additional Work Coach support to help more people find work or increase their hours. Anyone looking to boost their skills or progress their career should speak to their work coach to ensure they’re accessing all the support the DWP can provide.”
Who is eligible for tomorrow's payment?
Tomorrow's Cost of Living Payment will be made available to those who are receiving payments from means-tested benefits such as: Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Support, and Universal Credit.
It will also be handed out to those who receive certain government benefits, including income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support, Pension Credit, Child or Working Tax Credit.
Will all payments be made tomorrow?
According to the DWP, the payments will be rolled out across a set period. This means that you may not receive your payment tomorrow if you're expecting it. The deadline for payments is Wednesday, May 17.
If you do not have your payment by then you should get in touch with the DWP. There may also be delays in your payment if you recently changes the account which your benefits are paid into.
