BHOPAL: The Sena rebels have been “saffronised”, Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra remarked on Thursday even as MP agriculture minister Kamal Patel tweeted that the Uddhav Thackeray government fell because it “insulted women power”, alleging that Kangana Ranaut was “targeted” by the erstwhile Shiv Sena government.
On Sanjay Raut’s remark that Sena MLAs were kidnapped, Mishra said, “MLAs agva nahi, bhagva hogaye (MLAs weren’t abducted, they were saffronised). It is the first time in the country that a government has fallen on Hindutva. Mera desh badal raha hai.”
“It was due to the impact of Hanuman Chalisa that 40 MLAs left in 40 days,” Mishra said, without mentioning the arrest of Independent MLA Ravi Rana and his wife, Amravati MP Navneet Rana, over reciting the Hanuman Chalisa outside the Thackeray family home on April 23. Mishra took a dig at Congress for its “weak leadership”
Mishra’s cabinet colleague Kamal Patel tweeted ‘nari shakti’ and recalled the words: “Aaj mera ghar tuta hai, kal tera ghamand tutega (My home was demolished today, your ego will be destroyed tomorrow).”
The remarks were made by actor Kangana Ranaut after BMC demolished portions of her office in September 2020 over her face-off with Shiv Sena that started over comparing Mumbai with Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Patel said that insulting women cost heavily and named Kangana Ranaut and Marathi actor Ketaki Chitale, who was arrested in May for sharing a post allegedly derogatory to NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
