The Irish Cancer Society have announced the return of their Colour Dash fundraiser for 2023. The fun event will be taking place on Saturday August 12 in the Phoenix Park.
Anyone can sign up to the event to walk, jog or run the five kilometre course in the park As people pass at each kilometre, they are doused from head to toe in a different colour of powder paint.
All donations raised will be used to fund the Irish Cancer Society's Children and Young Adolescents (CAYA) support services with thousands of participants expected to take part in what will be the first Colour Dash in the park since the Pandemic. Launching Colour Dash 2023, mum to Caiden Pamela Lee, said: “Colour Dash is a great way to help support children and their families affected by childhood cancer. It’s a special event that is less about speed and more about a fun, colour-filled day that all the family can enjoy.
“We are so grateful for the free supports provided by the Irish Cancer Society. When Caiden was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2021, I had to leave my job and go on carer’s leave. The Irish Cancer Society’s Children’s Fund helped ease the financial burden of his treatment and care. This support was invaluable at a really difficult time in our families’ lives. I would encourage everyone to please sign up for Colour Dash 2023 and get involved today.”
