First pictures of all three missing fishermen as desperate search enters day two

These are the first pictures of all three fishermen missing off the North Wales coast as the desperate search enters its second day.

Carl McGrath, 34, Steve (Alan) Minard and Ross Ballentine have been named online as the three people on board a missing fishing vessel.

They went out to sea off the North Wales coast on Wednesday and they have not been seen since.

Their boat, the Nicola Faith, was due back in port at around midnight on Wednesday after leaving off the coast of Conwy at about 10am.

Six RNLI lifeboats have launched this morning to continue the desperate search.

A poster shared in a public Facebook group by Carl's partner Amy Lamb, raising awareness of the search, pictures all three men.

It says "A picture of all 3 lads on board."

Amy wrote on Facebook: "Please please please if anyone knows or has seen anything ring the coast guard or message me, I just want my boyfriend and his crew home safe."

A GoFundMe page launched by Lauren Hynes, sister of Carl McGrath, said: "On the 28th of January my brothers ( Carl McGrath ) boat with 3 of his crew member Ross and Alan were meant to arrive in the conwy area around 11pm but did not show.

"The last contact we had with them on the boat was at 9:30pm, we then tried to contact them again at 12pm but had no contact. We are working with the RNLI and police at this time.

"The search has been going on for 48 hours we are getting extremely worried.

"This page is to raise money for the RNLI as they have been working for hours and risking their life’s.

"They have been absolutely fantastic and without them this search wouldn’t be possible.(sic)"

Volunteer lifeboat crews from Llandudno, Rhyl, Hoylake and Conwy have launched this morning to help search for the missing fishing vessel and its crew, the Daily Post reports.

Both Shannon class all-weather lifeboats and inshore lifeboats from Rhyl and Llandudno were requested to launch by HM Coastguard shortly after 8am this morning.

Hoylake RNLI volunteers launched their Shannon class all-weather lifeboat shortly after 8:50am and Conwy volunteer crew joined the search at 9:07am.

The search is being coordinated by HM Coastguard.

The alarm was first raised yesterday morning for the missing vessel.

Yesterday, seven RNLI lifeboats joined the multi-agency search, with some lifeboat out for nearly 12 hours at sea.

Llandudno, Rhyl, Conwy, Beaumaris and Hoylake RNLI volunteers joined volunteer Coastguard teams and other emergency services in the search which lasted until 10pm last night.

Duty Controller for HM Coastguard Rob Priestley said: “We are continuing to search a wide area to try and find this vessel with all the assets we have at our disposal.

"We’re also asking other vessels in the area to keep a look out for anything that might also assist the search.”
