First picture of young Scottish dad who died in tragic accident near Elie in Fife

Tributes have been paid to a young Scottish dad who died following a horror motorbike crash in Fife.

Ryan Bayne, of Leven, passed away after the green and blue Suzuki ZX9 he was riding veered off the road on the A917 near Elie at around 9.50pm on Tuesday, October 4.

Emergency services, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, rushed to the crash site but the 28-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ryan was riding with a second man on a black and yellow Suzuki scrambler style motorcycle at the time of the accident, but he was not involved in the crash.

In a statement released via Police Scotland, Ryan's distraught family said: “We are devastated and this is a tragic loss for us and everyone who knew Ryan. We ask for our privacy to be respected at this time.”

Heartbroken loved ones have also taken to social media to pay their respects to Ryan, who is believed to have had a young daughter.

Claire Gubby wrote: "I'll make sure your daughter never forgets how much you love her and remind her of all the great memories you both made."

Louis Low said: "Rest in peace bro," while Nicole Bayne commented: "RIP brother! Will miss you forever." Ashley Buchan added: "Devastating news. Thoughts with all the family and friends. So, so shocked."

Donna Irvine wrote: "He hasn't even really started to live. Rest easy bud, ride the clouds now. Heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends."

Claire Robertson expressed her condolences, saying: "Thoughts are with his loved ones at this heartbreaking time and also with his fellow rider, what awful for them to witness." Tasha Wellburn said simply: "RIP Ryan."

The road was closed for around six hours while officers launched an investigation, and reopened around 3.45am. Cops are continuing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the event, and are urging anyone with any information to come forward.

Sergeant Colin Morrison of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man involved in this incident.

“We are working to establish the full circumstances and would urge anyone who has any information to get in touch.

“We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have seen either of the vehicles on the road or who may have dashcam footage from the area. Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3441 of 4 October.”
