First picture of Scots woman who died after 'falling from moving vehicle'

A woman has died almost a week after 'falling from a moving vehicle' in Dumfries and Galloway.

Michelle Martin, from Moffat, was found seriously injured on the A701 at St Ann’s on Saturday, June 18.

Emergency services raced to the scene and she was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The 48-year-old was pronounced dead in hospital last night.

Police believe Michelle fell from the moving vehicle around 1.45am on Saturday.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Police are continuing a probe to establish the full circumstances surrounding Michelle's death and have asked anyone who may have seen the incident to get in touch with officers.

Detective Inspector Graeme Robertson, of Dumfries CID, said: “Our thoughts are with Michelle’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would urge anyone with information, who has not yet spoken to police, to get in touch.

“Anyone with information should contact police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0336 of 18 June.”
