First picture of Scots dad killed in crash with tractor as tributes paid

A Scots dad who was killed after his motorbike crashed with a tractor in South Ayrshire has been named as Jamie Boyd. The 30-year-old, who was known as Bunt to pals, had been riding a Suzuki motorbike when it collided with a yellow JCB 4220 tractor shortly after 7.30am on Monday at Hamilton Bridge on the B741 near Dailly.

Emergency services sped to the scene but sadly, the Jamie, from Dailly, was pronounced dead upon arrival. The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

His passing has devastated loved ones who described the news as "heartbreaking".

Chris Beattie said: "Rest easy mate. Devastating news, can't take it in. Taken far too early. You will be sorely missed by everyone who knew you. My thoughts are with your wee family."

Jackie Fenton wrote: "Devastated to hear this terrible news. My heart goes out to his family. Rest in peace Jamie."

Barbara Cameron commented: "Heartbreaking. Thinking of [his partner] and the girls, and all of his family, such a tragic loss of a lovely young man."

Shannon Sloan added: "My heart breaks for his family and friends especially all his baby girls. Sad times for a small village."

Kimberley JC McDowall said: "Rest Easy Jamie. Sending love to your family and friends. Another life taken too soon."

Heather McCormick wrote: "So so sad. Can still see your cheeky wee grin. RIP Bunt".

Following the smash, the road was closed for around six hours while an investigation was launched. It re-opened around 1.30pm.

Officers are now urging anyone with any information on the event to get in touch.

Sergeant Kenneth Malaney, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this very difficult time. I would ask anyone who saw the vehicles immediately prior to the crash to come forward.

"I would also ask anyone who with dash-cam footage who was in the area around the time of the crash to check their footage and provide anything relevant to us as soon as possible.

“Those with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0649 of July 11.”
