A motorcyclist who died in a horror crash during a group ride on a rural Scots road has been named by police as Paul Armstrong.
The 41-year-old, from Newcastle, was travelling with a group of bikers when he was involved in a crash around 2.30pm on Sunday, June 11.
Emergency services rushed to the incident near to Boreland on the B723, between Annan and Eskdalemuir.
Sadly, Paul could not be saved and he was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
Sergeant David Kerr said: “An investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident who may have any information to contact us. Any small piece of information could assist our enquiries as we piece together what has happened.”
