A man found dead at a property in Uddingston has been named locally as David Tait.
The 33-year-old died 'suddenly' at an address on Hamilton Road in the South Lanarkshire town at around 1.30pm on Sunday.
David's heartbroken family have been left devastated by the news and tributes have since flooded in. Police say the death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.
His sister Kara Tait lead the tributes on Facebook as she described David as a "diamond of a brother".
She said: “I can’t get my head round this. You really were a diamond of a brother, I’ll never get over it. Sleep tight my angel I love you so much.”
Meanwhile his mum Carol Tait changed her cover photo on Facebook to a picture of David as tributes from other loved ones flooded in.
Thomas Michael Campbell said: "If you were lucky enough to know David Ross Gillick Tait then you really were lucky. He was the funniest, kindest person and ALWAYS had your back if you were his friend and usually a sarcastic comment or two along the way to keep you grounded.
"His wit and kindness were second to none, he wanted nothing but happiness for you and never asked for anything in return. He was always fun to be around and even when he wasn’t feeling his best always wanted to make sure you were doing alright and try put a smile on your face.
"It didn’t matter how long had passed since you saw each other or what city/country he lived in you always picked up right where you left off. Everyone should have a friend like David. God I’ll miss you."
Karen Fernandez said: "Another piece of my heart gone forever I love you dearly.. our blue eyed boy. Until the day we all meet up in the club in the sky.”
Lee Henry said: "RIP David Ross Gillick Tait , you were the most loving guy anybody would meet, I am absolute lost for words, sleep tight mate."
Oli Semp added: "You were one in a million and loved by so many. I can’t believe you are gone it’s totally heartbreaking. Rest in paradise my crazy friend."
Gary Mac said: "Although it’s a sad time, it’s always so heart warming to see the floods of photos and memories being shared of someone once they’re gone. What a character you were, rest in peace David Ross Gillick Tait. Thinking of your family and friends tonight."
George Stark added: "It really was a pleasure to have known you, one of life’s good guys taken far too soon. Sleep Tight son xx."
Speaking to the Record, Peter Nicol added: “Saddened to hear the passing of one of a kindhearted gentleman. Both fellow Scottish we received each others jokes quicker than the rest. His dry wit and generosity was all too clear to see. Rest in eternal peace”.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to an address in Hamilton Road in Uddingston around 1.30pm on Sunday, April 9, 2023 following the sudden death of a 33-year-old man. The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
