A man found dead alongside a child in a Paisley flat has been named as Steven Frank.
Family members paid tribute to the dad on Facebook and asked people not to speculate over what caused his death. The identity of the male child found dead within the property is still not known.
Officers raced to Argyle Street in the town's west end shortly after 8pm on Monday night after reports of concern for the people within the flat.
Ambulance crews also attended Argyle Street but both Steven and the young boy were found dead within the property. It is currently not known how they died.
One local, who asked not to be named, told the Record he heard "screaming and shouting" from within the flat before emergency crews arrived at the scene.
He said: “It was on Monday night, about 8pm. We heard shouting and screaming, like a domestic.
"We never thought anything of it. But then it went quiet for a bit, about half an hour.
"Then suddenly there were police and ambulances and a forensic tent. There was a private ambulance and we saw the bodies being taken out to it.”
Officers remained at the scene on Wednesday afternoon. Police vans were seen parked on the street. Cops say they do not think anybody else was involved in the incident and the deaths are currently being treated as "unexplained".
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of concern for a man and a child at a property in the Argyle Street area of Paisley around 8pm on Monday, May 15.
"Officers attended and a man and a boy were found dead within the property. The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained and post mortem examinations will take place in due course.
“At this time, we have no information to suggest anyone else has been involved. A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.”
