First picture of man, 34, killed in Brixton stabbing as police launch murder probe

Police have named the victim of a fatal stabbing in Brixton as 34-year-old Troy Ramsundar.

Officers and paramedics rushed to Brixton Road at around 5.10am on Thursday following reports of a man suffering a stab injury. Despite their efforts, Mr Ramsundar tragically died at the scene.

His family are being supported by specialist officers as the murder investigation continues.

A man initially arrested at the scene has since been released with no further action in relation to the murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, leading the investigation, said: "My thoughts are with the victim's family and friends at this devastating time.

"I understand the shock and concern this incident will have on the Brixton community. My team are already working diligently to gather evidence and establish what led to this tragedy. I would ask any local residents with concerns to speak to officers at the scene, or to their local neighbourhood policing teams."

Police are particularly keen to speak with anyone in the area between 04:45 and 06:00am who may have witnessed anything suspicious.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police through the Major Incident Public Portal, call 101, or message @MetCC on X quoting CAD843/20Mar.

Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
