A Scots dad killed in a horror two car crash has been remembered as a "loving, caring and compassionate husband and father" by his heartbroken family. David Horn, from Wemyss Bay, sadly passed away in hospital after being badly hurt on the A78 near Inverkip late on Saturday night.
Emergency services were called to the scene after the 59-year-old’s Toyota Yaris was involved in a collision with a VW Golf at around 11.30pm. The 22-year-old male driver of the other vehicle was also rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
His condition was described as ‘serious’ by medics. Police closed the road for almost ten hours to allow for a full accident investigation. Enquiries into the circumstances of the collision remain ongoing.
In a moving statement, his family said: “David was a loving, caring and compassionate husband and father, and a ready, willing and true friend to many.”
Sergeant Nick Twigg said: “Our thoughts are very much with David’s family at this very difficult time.
“Our investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened is ongoing and we continue to appeal to anyone who can assist, who has not already spoken with officers, to please get in touch.
