Police have named a great grandad killed in a horror crash on a Scots road.
Frank Spencer, 74, died following the one-vehicle smash, which happened on the A938 near Carrbridge in the Highlands at around 5.40pm on Thursday, May 26.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene, but Frank was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 73-year-old female passenger survived the crash after being taken to Raigmore Hospital.
Following the tragic incident Frank's heartbroken family have paid tribute and thanked the first responders who battled to save the much loved great grandad.
In a statement released through Police Scotland, they said: "Tragically, as a result of events on May 26, we sadly lost Frank Spencer, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
"Julia was seriously injured but is receiving amazing care at Raigmore hospital.
"The whole family would like to thank the people who were first on scene, for their kindness and compassion.
"Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to the emergency services for their professionalism and empathy, which has helped immensely."
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2596.
