The victim of an alleged stabbing at a shopping centre in Cumbernauld has been named as James 'Chucky' Ross.
The 27-year-old was named locally after the fatal incident at Abronhill Shopping Centre on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Larch Court in the town at 4.40pm to reports of an injured man.
James could not be saved and died a short time later at a property on the street.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.
One woman told the Daily Record: "I heard what happened to him and it is just awful.
"He wasn't that bad at all - he was always lovely to me.
"It is horrible. My heart goes out to his family, it really does."
Friends of Celtic fan James have taken to social media to pay tribute to the 'legend of the scheme' who would be missed in the community.
Ri RI Spence wrote: "Canny believe am writing this….legend of the scheme Chucky ma boy ill hold our memories tight.
"U will never ever walk alone!!! HH.
"So Much love mukka."
While Kimmy Sehar said: "Aww no way Cumbernauld will never be the same anymore, heartbreaking."

Another friend added: "Rip James 'chucky' Ross."
An extensive police cordon has been erected around the scene where the fatal incident took place.
Detectives were back combing the area for evidence on Tuesday morning.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a 27-year-old man who suffered a serious injury in a disturbance outside the Abronhill Shopping Centre on Pine Road in Cumbernauld around 4.40pm on Monday, 14 February.
“He was pronounced dead a short time later at a property on Larch Court.
“A 15-year-old male youth has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.”
