First pic of tragic Scots dad found dead in car down embankment by police

A tragic Scots dad found dead in his car down a Forth Valley embankment has been hailed a ‘legend’ by heartbroken pals.

The 38-year-old, named locally as Robert 'Bobby' Wilson, was tragically discovered inside a black Volkswagen Golf that was partially hidden in woodland on Sunday.

Police had been responding to a separate incident on the A908, near Tillicoultry, when they made the grim discovery at around 9am.

An investigation into the circumstances has been launched with an appeal for witnesses who may have been near the Lower Mill Street junction that morning.

The 38-year-old was sadly pronounced dead at the scene (UGC)

Devastated friends have rallied round the young dad’s family by launching a fundraiser to help cover the costs of his funeral.

A tribute to the Rangers super-fan on a GoFundMe page read: “Everyone who knew Bobby knew he was a great guy.

“He was a f****** legend in ma eyes! Ma bestest pal ma brother gonna be missed Bob u were some character!

“Let everyone who knew Bobby get together and help the family out at a time like this.”

The fund has already raised over £2400 within just 48 hours.

Paying tribute on social media, a pal wrote: “R.I.P Bobby Wilson will cherish the memories and the laugh I had with you. Shine bright my friend. Can’t believe it. So sad.”

Another said: “Can’t believe what I’ve heard. So gutted. I feel broken. RIP Bobby Wilson.”

A third posted: “RIP Bobby Wilson. Will certainly keep the memories and laughs we had. “Thoughts are with his friends and family.”

Officers say they are not treating the death as suspicious however their investigation continues.

They have established that the motor may have crashed while travelling eastbound between Sauchie and Tillicoultry between 5am and 8am.

Constable Fraser Easton, of the Stirling Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.

“I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash or been on the road in the early hours of Sunday morning contact us.

“Similarly I would appeal to anyone who has dash-cam footage to contact officers as soon as possible.

“Anyone with information can contact police via 101, quoting incident number 0962 of 27 March, 2022.”
