The most recent Model Y from Tesla, nicknamed Juniper, is set to arrive on UK roads in May, but be prepared to shell out £60,990 for the Launch Series edition.
For that price, drivers can expect a fast 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds, all-wheel drive, and a long-range battery that promises up to 353 miles on a full charge.
Only two colours – black and silver – are offered, along with a selection of wheel shapes in 19- and 20-inch sizes. The Cybertruck serves as the inspiration for the sleek new design of all new Model Ys.
The model includes a new light bar up front and supplemental primary lighting units positioned below. The indicators are built onto the outside borders, giving the car a considerably cleaner appearance than it had before.
More significant alterations have also been made beneath the surface, with an emphasis on making the inside more comfortable. According to Tesla, additional sound deadening, along a sturdier body structure and better aerodynamics, have reduced road, wind, and suspension noise by 20 per cent.
Although it is still standard, the panoramic glass roof has been enhanced to reflect more sunlight, which helps keep occupants in the back row cool. Along with new cushioning and a powered folding mechanism that can be triggered by a control located in the boot, the second-row seats have also undergone redesigns.
Additionally, there is a new magnetic parcel shelf that can be folded up and stored beneath the boot floor when not in use.
The Model Y's improvements are centred on increasing its efficiency, refinement, and quality, and they largely mirror those made to the Tesla Model 3 last year.
The indicator controls have been repositioned to a traditional stalk instead of being on the steering wheel, as was the case with the facelifted Model 3. This is the one way it varies from the Model 3.
The SUV is Tesla's most valuable asset due to its enormous economic success, and the American EV manufacturer will try to capitalise on it in an effort to overcome a protracted decline in sales.
More information about the other new Model Y cars will be released in the coming months.
