First Look Inside Australia’s Outrageous New Race Car Country Club

A one-of-a-kind country club that features a Formula One-inspired driving circuit, the only Crystal Lagoons in Australia, and a first-class sports academy for golf, tennis, racing, and basketball will open in 2022 in Perth.

Club Moolia features a $100 million racetrack and country club with game-changing technological innovations, numerous activities, and attractions that will engage guests year-round.

The popularity of professional racing has dramatically increased throughout the Asia Pacific, with F1 races in Singapore, Melbourne, Ho Chi Minh, Tokyo, and Shanghai. Australia will appeal to racing enthusiasts with the new private country club an hour’s drive away from Perth’s city center.

Club Moolia utilizes secured entry and exit points for members who wish to maintain ultimate privacy, while track days are strictly limited to ten cars per session. Members and guests will be able to use the maximum potential of  their private race cars, all in the comfort of their own private hideaway.

“Our key differentiating factors are the wide range of luxurious amenities available for members and best-in-class service,” said co-founder Ronald Shaw. “We want to hire only the finest service ambassadors, and make sure that everyone is treated courteously from the time they arrive.”

Club Moolia will offer limited memberships costing $30,000 to $100,000 apiece. Each member can invite family, colleagues, or clients to share in the club experience. Memberships are strictly limited to 600 individuals and corporate entities.

If the membership fees sound expensive, it is. But it is in line with the fees charged by other private racing tracks and clubs around the world, including the Monticello Motor Club in New York and the new Concours Club in Miami.

“The club’s offerings cater to a broad segment of affluent visitors, including sunshine lovers, sports enthusiasts, and socialites,” Ronald says. He has studied many luxury facilities around the world, including the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, and Thermal Club near Palm Springs.

Perth is fast transforming into an entertainment mecca and luxury capital of the Asia Pacific. In recent years, suburbs such as Peppermint Grove and Dalkeith have dominated the luxury homes category, with some of Western Australia’s wealthiest and oldest families residing in the Monaco of Australia.

According to the developer Ascapia Capital, renewed enthusiasm from the annual Formula One Grand Prix and the popular York Motor Show has injected new energy into Perth’s motorsports industry. In the heart of Perth’s central business district, you can see an increase of high-performance sports cars, but these cars do not have the right infrastructure on the narrow lanes to perform at their fullest potential.

The team of developers has worked endlessly over the past three years to uncover the perfect location for Club Moolia. With affluent clients in the region facing a scarcity of lifestyle choices, the team evaluated the competition to develop a unique membership program offering some of the most desired amenities. “When we decided to build Club Moolia, we brought along our intense development mindset and racing experience to the forefront,” says Ronald.

Club Moolia is easily accessible compared to other regional facilities in Australia, located within an hour’s drive north of Perth’s downtown and the international airport. “It is without a doubt that Club Moolia is catered to the affluent segment,” says Ronald. “The founders had a clear vision of targeting the high-end, and the end product speaks for itself. There is no better location in the Asia Pacific or anywhere else in the world to create the ultimate automotive, sports, and entertainment experience for our privileged members.”

For members who have visited the IMG Academy in Florida, the facilities and training programs at Club Moolia would be familiar. The two basketball and five tennis courts provide intense competitions, specialized nutrition, strength, technical programs, expert coaching, and performance analysis for budding Olympians.

In terms of environmental conservation, the only Crystal Lagoons® in Australia uses 100 times less chemicals and 2% of the energy required by conventional swimming pool filtration. The enormous, turquoise blue lagoon provides a clean, eco-friendly experience for members to enjoy water or beach sports.

Golfing fans will not be disappointed with the natural turf driving range. Using the advanced technology, players can track the flight path of every golf shot and the score would be instantly displayed on the high definition screen.

Ronald and his team are promising climate-controlled garages, expansive 6,000sf club lounges, designer suites, spa suites, private screening rooms, and charging services for electric cars. Members can enjoy exclusive chauffeur services directly from Perth International Airport or five-star hotels to Club Moolia, an invitation reserved only for club members.
