New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye and wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk are officially in the building for the team’s 2024 training camp.
Rookies were required to report on Friday, while veterans won’t have to report until next Tuesday. The first day of training begins for the Patriots on Wednesday, July 24.
Maye and Polk are two central figures for the future considering they were New England’s top-two draft picks. The team hopes Maye can emerge as the future franchise face at the quarterback position with Polk potentially being his top receiving target.
The team also used a fourth-round pick on former UCF receiver Javon Baker, who should factor into the equation as well.

New England has plenty of work to do in preparation for the regular season. The post-Bill Belichick era kick-started with lead personnel executive Eliot Wolf working through free agency and the draft to rebuild a 4-13 Patriots team that failed to make the playoffs for a second straight season.
Now, it’ll fall on newly-hired head coach Jerod Mayo to take those pieces and prove the team is headed in a better direction on the football field.
